The President of the Federal Government of Somalia and the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired the Banadir Regional Security Conference today.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government, Hamse Abdi Barre, the Ministers of Security and Defence, the Commanders of the Armed Forces, the governor of Banadir region and the governors of the districts of Banadir region.

This meeting was focused on accelerating the steps taken to ensure the security of Mogadishu, which has been improving significantly in recent times.

“Reports on the security situation in the capital were heard from the officials of the security agencies who presented their plans to protect the life, property and dignity of Somali citizens,” said a statement issued by the Somali Presidency.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud asked the officials who participated in the meeting to redouble their efforts to ensure the security of the capital city of Mogadishu.
