The governor of Hiran region of Hirshabeelle, Muse Salad Wehliye, has spoken strongly about the recent incidents of insecurity in the neighborhoods of Baledweyne.
The governor said that the insecurity problems in Baledweyne city are the ones that are discrediting the honor of the local defense force known as Macawisleyda.
“We know that those who commit acts of banditry against the people living in Baledweyne are people who want to tarnish the honor and the struggle learned in the brave army. We will not allow that name to be lost, and I confirm that Macawisley is not the perpetrators. We will hold with an iron hand those who want to defame the name of the Mawisleyda army,” said Governor Muse Salad.
He also said that the local defense forces are still in the front lines of the war, and are still engaged in fighting the Al-Shabaab group.
“The local defense forces that I am talking to are part of their funerals. What is bothering people in Baledweyne and other parts of the region are those who did not fight and organized themselves in the cities, so as to discredit the name of the Mawisleyda army. I have those who are involved in killing, I repent of that and I know you,” said the governor of Hiran region of Hirshabelle administration Muse Salad Wehliye.
This statement by the governor Muse Salad comes as armed groups have been increasing in the neighborhoods of Baledweyne recently and have been killing civilians in the town of Baledweyne.
