Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the opening of the 37th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.
President Hassan Sheikh, who gave a speech at the meeting, called for joint measures to be taken to prevent actions that hinder peace and security that are emerging across the continent.
President Hassan Sheukh reiterated that the measures recently announced by Ethiopia are unacceptable, especially the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they signed with Somaliland, a region of Somalia.
The president described the move as a violation of international and African laws and unacceptable.
He urged the countries of the African Union to work together to create effective ways to deal with the problems in Africa.
