The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud traveled today to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to participate in the 37th session of the African Union Council.
The Somali presidency has said in a statement that the president will convey Somalia’s clear position against interference against its independence and territorial integrity.
President Hassan Sheikh underlined how the people and the government of Somalia will not accept any violation that undermines their nationalism, said the statement issued by the presidency.
“The issue of Ethiopia that has been moving these days is still its position in our place. And it is a position that is difficult to give up to be invisible. Entering our country is an impossible dream, we have already told you. We are sharing that message with the world,” said the president.
Senior diplomats from the United States and the African Union are trying to talk to the president of Somalia and the prime minister of Ethiopia, in order to reach a solution to the maritime crisis.
