The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has appointed Gabriel Ibrahim Abdulle as Somalia’s ambassador to Kenya.
Ambassador Gabriel Ibrahim Abdulle will go to Nairobi, while Kenya has also changed its ambassador to Mogadishu.
Ambassador Gabriel, has worked in Kenya for the past ten years. He replaces Ambassador Mohamud Ahmed Nur Tarzan, the former Mayor of Mogadishu.
The Kenyan government has recently bid farewell to Ambassador Tarsan, who has completed his duties as ambassador to Kenya.
He worked during difficult times when the relationship between the two governments was very bad.
The new ambassador is one of the politicians who have declared themselves the president of Somalia several times.
The first task before the new ambassador is to facilitate the re-opening of the borders of the two countries.
