At least 6 civilians died and 12 others were injured in an explosion that hit a bus carrying passengers in the Lower Shabelle.
The bus that was hit by the explosion was traveling between Qoryoley and Marka in the Lower Shabelle region.
The Somali government has accused the Al-Shabaab group of being behind the explosion, according to the state media, Mohamed Ibrahim, the governor of Shabelle region.
The road between Mogadishu and Marka is one of the places where the explosions hit the public transport that uses that road.
On June 30, 2016, the most devastating mine explosion occurred on the road between Lafoole and Afgoye, and at least 18 civilians were killed in a small bus passing through Lafoole area.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Al-Shabaab has attacked the security forces several times in the past.
In the following years, especially after 2020, such explosions took place on this road, and civilians died and others were maimed.
Al-Shabaab is targeting government forces and ATMIS forces with explosions on this road, but the most casualties resulting from these attacks are mostly civilians.
