The Federal Government of Somalia has said that the security forces have arrested members who were spying for the Al Shabaab militia.

The Minister of Information of the Federal Government, Daoud Aweys Jama said that the Security Agency has arrested about 10 members.

The minister who held a press conference in Mogadishu on Friday afternoon said that the NISA agency is following two other men who, according to him, escaped and were working closely with Al Shabaab.

The minister identified the escaped members as Abdisatar Abdiqadir Isse and Ayanle Mohamed Ali, but did not mention the names of the arrested members.

Minister Daoud Aweys said that the arrest of these people was after it was discovered that there are members of the government, and at the same time sharing the information with Al Shabaab.

On the other hand, Abdisatar Abdiqadir Isse belonged to the NISA Agency, while Ayanle Mohamed Ali belonged to the Police Force, both of them have already defected from Al Shabaab.

Abdisatar Abdiqadir, who surrendered to the security agencies in 2021, was hired last year, and was currently the Chief of Operations of NISA.

These members who were declared to be working with Al Shabaab reinforces the suspicion that many people have that Al Shabaab is integrated into the Federal Government Agencies, when you look at how they plan their attacks on their heavily guarded security areas, which is not possible. not that Al-Shabaab can reach them easily.
