The senators in the upper house of Garowe city to resolve the political conflict in the Puntland elections, described the war in Garowe as unfortunate.

The senators who spoke to the local media said that they are sorry that their calls for peace in Garowe city were not listened to in order to prevent conflict.

They condemned that the parliament acted wrongly on the disputed constitutional provisions. They said the ongoing war in Garowe was a result of the decisions made by the parliament to open the constitution.

The second deputy speaker of the upper house, Abdullahi Hirsi Timacadde, one of the senators who spoke, strongly condemned the Puntland parliamentary committee, saying that they were wrong to advance the provisions of the constitution and he said that it was because of this that the forces confronted each other and the conflict arose.

“The primary responsibility of the war belongs to the parliamentary committee. They are good officials,” said Governor Timcadde.

“Unfortunately, no one listened to us, and today’s failure happened. The Puntland senators condemn those who participated in the instigation of today’s war in Garowe,” said Senator Seynab Timibiye, who is one of the senators in Garowe to find a solution.

However, the Senators called for an unconditional end to the war. They also called for a political solution to end the war. They said they will stay in Garowe and continue efforts to end the conflict.
