The Commander of the Somali Armed Forces, General Odawaa Yusuf Rage, has been removed from his position today, and General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin has been appointed as the Commander of the 60th Brigade of the National Presidential Guard.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia today approved the proposal of the Ministry of Defense to appoint the new Commander of the Somali National Army, General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin Addow.
General Odawaa Yusuf Raagge has been removed from the position he has held since 2019, who was one of the responsibilities of a close friend of the former president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.
The new commander of the country’s armed forces, Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin, has previously held various positions, including the head of the presidential ceremony and the presidential guard Koofia Casta during the previous term of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
