Some of the businessmen of Bakaraha Market in Mogadishu who held a press conference for the media today said that they are on the verge of closing their businesses in Bakaraha Market.

These businessmen said that they are in charge of the soldiers of the government, especially those of the Banadir regional administration who want more money than the tax.

“We are close to closing down our business centers because we are being harassed every day by the army asking us for illegal money. We have paid the normal tax. If this continues, we will close the doors of our business centers,” he said. among the merchants of Bakara Market.

It is not the first time that traders in the Bakara market in Mogadishu, the biggest market in Somalia, have complained about money that they say is beyond tax.
