A helicopter belonging to the United Nations mission in Somalia was captured by the Al-Shabaab group, after it suddenly landed in the territory controlled by the Al-Shabaab group.
At least six of the aid workers who were on the plane are now in the hands of Al-Shabaab.
This helicopter landed near Gadoon area in Galgaduud region due to a technical problem, according to the United Nations report seen by Aljazeera media.
According to the statement, the plane was carrying nine passengers including military personnel and a contractor.
Six of them were said to have been taken away by Al-Shabaab while two passengers escaped and are still missing.
All United Nations flights have been temporarily suspended until further notice.
The nationalities of the people who were on the plane are still unclear. The Somali government has not yet commented on the news.
