The Ministry of Defense of Somalia said that it has started an investigation into the reason behind the shooting of the Speaker of the Hirshabelle Parliament at the airport in Jowhar.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense said that the act targeting the Speaker of the Parliament is unfortunate and against the conduct of the Somali Armed Forces, who are accused of being responsible for the act.
The Ministry of Defense said that when the investigation is completed, the soldiers behind the act will be brought to justice quickly, so that they can be held accountable.
The Ministry of Internal Security in Hirshabelle has also condemned the attack on the convoy escorting the Speaker of the Hirshabelle Parliament, Luqman Haji Mohamud, which resulted in the death and injuries of the security forces of the Hirshabelle Presidency.
