The Federal Government of Somalia has given more details of the operation carried out yesterday by the Somali Armed Forces between the areas of Galdad and Barag Sheikh Aamir in Galgaduud region.
The operation was planned and the Ministry of Information of Somalia said that members of Al-Shabaab were killed, including a leader named Ali Ahmed Guure, also known as Ali Qoyane.
The government said that this leader was one of the leaders of Al-Shabaab in Galgaduud region, who caused the worst problems for the Somali people living in that region.
The deputy commander of the 7th Brigade of the 16th Battalion of the Lightning Commandos, Mohamed Hassan Abukar, told the national media that the killing of the leader came after information received from the local residents.
“Commander Ali Ahmed Guure (Ali Qoyane) was sentenced to death by the Military Court while he was absent, and he was one of the most dangerous leaders who caused the most trouble to the Somali people,” said a brief news broadcast by the Somali News Agency. SONNA.
In the operation that killed this leader, it was also pointed out that the government forces opened a NOHA vehicle and the weapons carried by this leader and other members who were killed in the planned operation that took place in Galgaduud.
