The Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Somalia has definitively ratified the results of the re-run election for the House of Representatives of the Galmudug Regional State, which took place on September 30, 2026.

This decision follows a request submitted to the Supreme Court by the Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission seeking final ratification of the election results.

The Court stated that it had reviewed the documents related to the request and confirmed that no legal challenge contesting the Galmudug re-run election results had been filed in accordance with Article 73 of the National Electoral Law.

Furthermore, the Court cited the provisions of the electoral law and the established procedures for ratifying election results, which vest the authority for final ratification in the Supreme Court following the provisional announcement of results by the electoral commission.

The list of results included in the Court’s decision identifies the candidates who won seats while representing various political organizations. The Supreme Court also ordered that the decision be transmitted to the Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission and published in accordance with legal procedures; this ratification concludes the judicial phase of validating the results of the Galmudug House of Representatives re-run election, as stipulated in the Supreme Court’s ruling.
