The Minister of Security of the South West State, Hassan Abdukadir, today spoke about the operations carried out by the security forces in Walanweyn district and its surrounding areas, praising the military and the South West Dervish forces, saying that they have completely stabilized the situation in the district.

The Minister also welcomed the decisions of the Military Court, which imposed harsh sentences on those involved in the recent conflict in Walanweyn district.

He said that these measures show how the South West State administration is committed to eradicating acts of insecurity and inciting clan conflicts.

The Minister of Security accused MP Dahir Amiin Jeesow of being a “stir-up” who is stirring up clans in Walanweyn.

The Minister said that the MPs have warned him several times but are now demanding that the Federal Government hand him over to the South West State administration to face trial.

Minister Hassan Abdukadir insisted that the responsibility for any problems that occurred in Walanweyn lies with MP Jeesow, calling on the people living in Yaaqbari Weyne to work towards peace, coexistence, and maintaining security.

Meanwhile, MP Dahir Amiin Jeesow strongly responded to the Minister’s accusations, describing his remarks as “a violation of the law and the reputation of a national MP.” Jeesow said: “I am not responding to a local minister, and I am a guarantor of his land being held by Al-Shabaab.”

MP Jeesow has categorically denied any involvement in the recent attacks and fighting in Yaaqbari Weyne. He insisted that he has always been a peacemaker and mediator, working to stabilize and reconcile the conflicting clans in the area.
