Israeli forces have carried out heavy airstrikes in several areas of Gaza City in recent hours, killing more than 40 people and wounding nearly 100.
The attacks were concentrated in the Zaytoun neighborhood, and the victims were people who had recently returned to the neighborhood after the ceasefire signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, led by US President Donald Trump.
The heavy airstrikes came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to resume the war with Hamas.
Netanyahu also accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement and wants his forces to resume airstrikes on Gaza City, where hundreds of Palestinians have recently returned.
The reports also state that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked US President Donald Trump to scrap the ceasefire he is pushing for, but President Donald Trump’s response has not yet been confirmed.
The renewed Israeli airstrikes on Gaza appear to directly violate the ceasefire agreement reached with Hamas earlier this month, and there has been no immediate comment from Hamas regarding the attacks on Gaza that have caused significant damage.
