The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information of Somalia, Abdirahman Sheikh Yusuf Al Adala, responded to the accusation from the Federal Government of Puntland that it should have closed the page of Puntland President Saeed Abdullahi Deni.
Minister Al Adaala described the allegation as baseless. He regretted that the letter of accusation sent to Puntland was not responsible.
“We can pass the law, there is nothing forcing us to steal. I can confirm that even ministers from the central government have had their Facebook accounts closed,” said Minister Al Adaala in an interview with one of the local TV channels. Mogadishu.
The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala, reiterated that the government had nothing to do with it, stating that further investigation will be conducted.

Mustafa Sheikh, the Director General of the National Communications Authority, pointed out that this issue has greatly affected leaders, journalists and government officials, and this shows gaps in Facebook’s communication policies that need to be corrected.
He also said that the National Telecommunications Authority has asked Meta to take immediate action to prevent such actions in the future.
