Ten members of the Al-Shabaab organization were executed this morning in the city of Galkayo after the high court of the armed forces of Puntland sentenced them to death.
These individuals were found guilty of killing many civilians and other officials in the city of Galkayo, before Puntland’s security forces arrested them almost three years ago.
On the other hand, Puntland security forces are also looking for three of the group that were executed this morning, but recently escaped from Galkayo prison.
The fugitives are considered dangerous, and a reward has been offered for information leading to their capture.
This sentence is the second most execution of Al-Shabaab members in the city of Galkayo, as in 2022 the Puntland administration executed 18 Al-Shabaab members.
Their killing is considered a big blow to the Al-Shabaab group which has been carrying out planned attacks and killings in Northern Galkayo since 2008.
