Colonel Abdifatah Adan Hassan said that the attack started with an explosion in Ismidamin carried out by a person who connected the explosives and targeted civilians in the open area of ​​Lido beach. After the explosion, armed men entered the restaurant building. and the Beach View hotel.

The spokesperson of the Somali Police said that the attack that took place last night on Lido beach killed 32 people and wounded 63 people, some of them with serious injuries.

“At least 32 people were killed and 63 civilians were injured in the explosion in Lido. A car carrying explosives was foiled by the army and the Khawarij driver was caught and injured,” said Somali Police Spokesman Abdifatah Adan.

He also pointed out to the Speaker that the army foiled and stopped a vehicle filled with explosives belonging to Al-Shabaab and they wanted to kill the survivors in the first attack, and he noted that the army captured the driver of the vehicle while he was injured.
