The former President of Somalia, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, accused the Federal Government of Somalia of failing in the war against al-Shabaab. He explained that the process of fighting Al-Shabaab was misguided.

Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, who held a press conference in Mogadishu, said that there is not a single brigade of the Somali military that is ready to fight against Al-Shabaab.

“If the process of fighting Al-Shabaab is correct, why did the army break it?” Or you guessed it, the military today does not have one battalion that can fight. The way the army has been managed is wrong, and we are saying that we are against al-Shabaab,” said former president Sharif.

He said that corruption and loss of property are at their worst level, saying that there is no work going on in the government offices.

Sharif accused the government leaders of promoting tribal practices. He said government jobs were crippled by incompetent workers who were hired by tribals.
