Reports from Lower Jubba state that members of the Al-Shabaab group were killed in a mine explosion in Laagan area between Gududey and Bulo Baad areas in Lower Jubba.
The members of Al-Shabaab who died in the explosion included five members in a car called Succeed, which was caught by a mine explosion buried on the road.
Sources in the area where the explosion took place said that all the members of the Al-Shabaab group in the car died in the explosion, and the car they were driving was burnt.
The reports added that members of the group reached the area after the explosion, and they removed the bodies of the five members and also dragged the remains of the vehicle that had caught the mine that was loaded with explosives.
This mine explosion is said to have buried members of the group in the ground, and it coincides with the ongoing heavy operations against the Al-Shabaab group in the Jubbaland region.
