The Somali government forces have captured several vehicles in Galgaduud region containing fuel and other materials which are believed to have been taken to the areas controlled by the Al-Shabaab group.
The armed forces also killed an armed man who was said to be al-Shabaab in Masagawa area. The army also arrested two women who were said to be members of the Al-Shabaab group, who were traveling with a vehicle.
“XDS forces have succeeded in killing a member of Al-Shabaab who was armed with an AK-47 rifle at the Masagaway Checkpoint,” said an official statement from the government.
The individual was shot before he could launch an attack.
The government forces in Galgaduud are keeping a close eye on the movement of vehicles, they have on several occasions seized vehicles carrying supplies to the Al-Shabaab group.
