Reports from the Middle Shabelle region say that members of the Al-Shabaab group have invaded the villages under the Hawadaley area, which is one of the areas under the Balcad district.
The reports also say that the government forces and the local people who were in Hawadaley have left the area, and the official reason behind the army’s evacuation of Hawadaley is not known.
Hawadaley area is one of the areas along the Shabelle River that was liberated from Al-Shabaab last year, and now there are again activities that the group wants to capture in that important area.
Among the villages that have been seen in the last few hours by the group and have started their activities are the villages of Shanlow, Dhagaxow and Farbaraki which are all located in the area of Hawadaley.
The people living in Hawadley area in the Middle Shabelle region are afraid of this behavior between the Al-Shabaab group and the government forces which may cause them to fight.
