The Kenyan government has jailed Mohamed Abdi Ali, known as Abu Fidaa, Abu Shuhadaa, for 12 years, who it says is a member of the Daesh terrorist group.
In the trial and sentencing of this man, the Kenyan government said that he prevented terrorist attacks that he was planning to carry out in Kenya with his companions.
This man was arrested in 2016, and since then he has been on probation.
The Office of the Public Prosecution of Kenya, in a report issued, said that the suspect was found guilty of recruiting members to the Daesh Organization.
The Kenyan prosecution has already requested that the man be sentenced to up to 90 years in prison, due to the severity of the alleged crimes and the impact they may have on Kenya’s security.
Kenya has said that it is the top power in the region to prevent terrorism by saying that it supports countries like Somalia to fight against terrorist groups like al-Shabaab.
