Five men who are believed to have worked with the Al-Shabaab group were brought before the armed forces court of the Puntland regional government in Bosaso town.

These men have been accused of a crime, that they used their vehicles to serve Al-Shabaab, by transporting members of Al-Shabaab who are in the mountainous area to carry out murderous operations in Bosaso city.

The prosecutor of the court said that these men were arrested when a follow-up was carried out in two cases of murder in the city of Bosaso. The deputy public prosecutor of the military court said that the men who committed the murders were taken in a Brobox vehicle owned by the defendants who were brought before the court.

The evidence presented by the prosecution includes the mobile phone of one of the two men who were killed, which was found in one of the vehicles used for Al-Shabaab.

Some of the defendants argued that the threats they faced from Al-Shabaab forced them to carry out their activities in their vehicles, while others said that they were working for Al-Shabaab without knowing it.

However, the military court is set to issue the judgment of 4 of these men today, while acquitting one of the accused who was acquitted of any crime.
