The Somali forces, especially the 7th brigade, have conducted operations against the Al-Shabaab group in the past few hours in areas of the Lower Shabelle.
The planned operations were carried out by the army in several areas along the Shabelle River in the region.
A brief news broadcast in the government media said that the operation caused heavy losses to members of the Al-Shabaab group who were hiding in the river bank.
The statement announcing the total loss of those operations was delivered to the Al-Shabaab group in its entirety.
The forces of the Federal Government of Somalia with the support of the local people and international friends are carrying out operations against Al-Shabaab in most of the areas where the group is in the country.
