A statement was recently issued at the National Consultative Council meeting between the leaders of the federal government, the regional governments of the country and the Banadir region.
The conference was held for four days at the head of the National Dialogue Council at the Somali Presidency, where the leaders discussed very sensitive issues.
The press release issued at the conference, which contains four points, said that the council agreed on points such as security, fighting Al-Shabaab, completing the review of the constitution, strengthening democratization and humanitarian issues.
The council also supported the efforts of the Federal Government to speed up the transition plan of the armed forces and the steps to take over the responsibility of the security of the country after the withdrawal of the ATMIS force which is expected to leave the country at the end of this year.
It is worth noting that the National Consultative Council’s statement was issued recently that Puntland is not part of it, after it has already said that it has cut ties with the Federal Government of Somalia.
