The Puntland Police Force has called on the public to be vigilant against the possibility of ISIS fighters hiding in the community.
A press release from the Puntland Police Force stated that air and ground operations are underway to eliminate the remnants of the ISIS group in the Baallade Valley and the surrounding area.
The police said in their statement that the operation is currently in its final phase, indicating that new preparations are underway to ensure that ISIS fighters do not find a place to hide.
This news comes after US warplanes carried out heavy airstrikes on the Baallade Valley last night, where ISIS fighters are located and their area has been inaccessible.
Security sources told HOL that the airstrikes are specifically targeting ISIS members who were said to be gathering in the Maraagade and Yucrin areas of the Baallade Valley.
Puntland said it has added 700 new soldiers to the ongoing operations in the Cal Miskaad Mountains, planning to end the ISIS operation that began in December last year by September.
