The Minister of Interior of the Government of Somalia, Ali Yusuf Xoosh, said that the reconstruction of the new SSC-Khaatumo Regional State will resolve the long-standing disputes in the Sool and Sanaag regions, which are considered disputed territories.

“No one can argue with you. And do not engage in disputes,” said Minister Xoosh, speaking today at the opening of the conference to complete the new SSC-Khaatumo administration.

Minister Xoosh stated that the Federal Government of Somalia fully supports the new administration, so that it can overcome its challenges and become stable and reflect the wishes of the local people.

“I remind you that the completion of the SSC-Khaatumo administration is a public goal, not a group or political issue. We must unite and support the new administration,” said Minister Xoosh.

The Minister stressed that the Federal Government believes that development in these regions can be achieved when there is a formal administration that truly represents the interests of the people.

He said after this conference that the SSC Khaatumo Regional State will officially become part of the Somali regional states under the Federal Government.

The SSC-Khaatumo final conference will discuss issues such as the division of administrative powers, the administrative structure, the drafting and ratification of the constitution and the holding of presidential elections.
