Somali Regional State Administration DDS Transfers Military Equipment and Supplies to Hiran Regional Governor

Officials from the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia today handed over military equipment to the Governor of Hiran Region, Muse Salad Wehliye.

The Somali Regional State of Ethiopia has provided these military equipment to local forces to fight against Al-Shabaab militants.

At a ceremony in the Feer district of Somalia, the military equipment was handed over to the Governor of Hiran Region by the Deputy Head of the Security Office of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia, Idris Jibril, accompanied by other officials, including the Chief of Police of the Ethiopian Regional State, Lieutenant General Abdi Ali Siyad, the Chief of Intelligence of the Eastern Ethiopian Military Forces, Colonel Hassan, and other officials.

The Governor of Hiran Region, Muse Salad Wehliye, accompanied by officers from the Somali Federal Government forces, traditional elders, and other officials, thanked the regional leaders for their support today.

“This assistance that our brothers from the regional government have provided us is an encouraging step and an example worth emulating, as the people of Hiran are engaged in a serious struggle against the Al-Shabaab group, I welcome any voice that supports us in the fight against the Khawarij,” said chairman Muse Salad Wehliye.

However, the leaders from the Somali regional government have pledged to continue to support the people of Hiran in their operation against Al-Shabaab.

Finally, this military support from the Ethiopian Somali regional state comes at a crucial time when the people of Hiran have been fighting heavy battles with Al-Shabaab for three years.
