The President of Puntland, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, said that information obtained by a foreign government revealed that the area of Daasaan, which was recently removed from the Daesh group, was the center where the group planned terrorist attacks in countries around the world.
President Deni noted that three of the areas that were removed from Daesh – Sheeban, Dasaan, and Dadaar – were the locations where the group’s operations were conducted in different parts of the world. He stressed that the threat of Daesh is not limited to Puntland, but it was global and Puntland has played its role in fighting it.
Also, Deni pointed out that the area of Daasan was an important center where the senior leaders of Daesh used to hide, they were sheltering there to avoid being targeted. He added that Daesh had a great desire to capture the city of Bosaso.
The President also revealed that the Daesh group was preparing big plans to undermine the security of Puntland, so that it would have the opportunity to expand its power.
It was last night when President Deni announced that the third phase of the operation against ISIS will be launched today. Also, he held a period of seven days for anyone who wants to be granted amnesty.
