The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, and the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the local governments of Tripoli and Mogadishu.
According to the agreement, the two sides have signed many other agreements, including that the Libyan Government has exempted Somalia from entry visas for diplomatic, personal and professional passport holders.
They also signed a political consultation agreement between the two foreign ministries to promote diplomatic ties on issues of common interest.
They agreed to establish a joint high-level committee to review previous agreements, as well as to discuss Libyan investment in Somalia, and to promote economic and development cooperation between the two sides.
They emphasized the importance of cooperation in regional affairs, especially in the Horn of Africa region.
On Sunday, the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in the capital Tripoli, leading a high-level delegation on an official visit to Libya.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was preceded in Tripoli by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Macalin Faqi, the Minister of Interior, Federation and National Reconciliation, who held meetings with their Libyan counterparts.
