There are more reports of a planned attack by the local forces and local people in the Dabagalo area, which is one of the areas under the Harardhere district of the Mudug region.
The attack carried out by the joint forces killed about six members of Al-Shabaab who were at a checkpoint in that area.
The commander of the forces that carried out the operation, named Colonel Gaanburi, told the national media that the operation killed the leader of Al-Shabaab group in Dabagalo area and the villages of Dadawa.
“The national and local forces launched an attack last night at around 11:30 p.m. and planned an attack on members of the Khawarij Front and militiamen who were in Dabagalo area under Harardhere District,” said Colonel Gaanburi.
In Harardhere district of Mudug region and the surrounding areas, the army and local people have been conducting operations against the Al-Shabaab group.
