The Galmudug administration said that the weapon that was seized by the tribal militias from Abudwaq a few days ago, was an illegal weapon that was intended to serve the interests of the Al-Shabaab group, and to confront the people.
A press release from the Galmudug administration said that the administration will take action against all those who were involved in bringing the weapons into Galmudug areas.
“The Galmudug government has been closely following the movement of weapons smuggled from Ethiopia to the North of Galmudug. The security agencies that followed him tried to get hold of the weapons, to prevent the threat of security and instability that these weapons can create,” said the Galmudug press release.
Galmudug has never said that it wants those weapons to be returned from the hands of the people. She said that she is in the process of bringing to justice the people behind the weapons that were brought into her area.
