The Somaliland Prosecutor’s Office has proposed to the House of Representatives that the honor be stripped of MP Mohamed Abib, who is a member of the Somaliland House of Representatives.
A letter signed by the attorney general, in which the prosecution requests the removal of the honor from MP Abib, was submitted to the Chairman of the House of Representatives, Yasin Haji Haji Mohamud Khir Faratoon.
So, politicians and parliamentarians have reacted in different ways to the proposal of the attorney general, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives, Ali Hamud Jibril, who spoke to the media and accused Faratoon of hiding the letter and submitting it to the standing committee of the council.
Governor Jibril who spoke to the media said that Abib’s case was not followed, and the chairman hid it from him, saying that he will bring a motion against Faratoon if he does not return to the rules.
The chairman of the Kaah Mohamud Hashi Abdi Association, to which Abib belongs, described the proposal of the attorney general as unacceptable and an untimely step.
According to Governor Jibril, the member of parliament has been accused of charges, including that he met the head of the Somali government in Djibouti, and the relationship between Abib and Faratoon is not good after several disagreements in the council.
