The Attorney General of Somalia has instructed the investigative agencies to provide an answer as to why it was possible to attack Al-Shabaab prisoners in the Mogadishu prison.
Dr. Saleban Mohamed Mohamud said that it is not expected that such an act would happen in Mogadishu prison. He said what can be satisfied is that the security agencies should provide a complete report on this action.
The public prosecutor added that the officials involved in this action will be held accountable, saying that it cannot be allowed to cause any kind of trouble in the prison.
At least 8 people, including 5 Al-Shabaab prisoners, were killed in a shootout between the security forces and the Al-Shabaab prisoners.
Al-Shabaab prisoners were secretly given weapons and ammunition to fight so that they could escape.
