The Egyptian airline EgyptAir will start its first flight between Cairo and Mogadishu on Friday this week, which is considered an important step in the company’s strategy to expand in East Africa.
Flight MS873 will depart from Cairo at 6:30 AM local time, stopping in Djibouti, before proceeding to Mogadishu.
The company will make flights every two weeks in a new way, which is said to increase the connection between Cairo and Mogadishu and facilitate economic relations between Egypt and Somalia.
EgyptAir’s decision to fly direct to Mogadishu is part of a wider effort to boost its international travel network.
This new move is expected to strengthen economic relations between the two countries by promoting trade, tourism, and investment opportunities in Egypt and Somalia. In addition, this new step can enhance the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
