There are more reports of a serious attack by the Al-Shabaab group early this morning on a control center in the Balcad district of the Middle Shabelle region.
The attack was said to have started with strong explosions targeting two checkpoints that were guarded by security forces in the district, and the explosions were followed by a direct battle between Al-Shabaab and the government forces.
Preliminary images obtained from the attack this morning show a strong explosion caused by the explosions and many black mists in the air of Balcad district.
It is not yet known the official losses that resulted from the attack by the Al-Shabaab group early in the morning on the checkpoints in that district.
The latest reports are now saying that the situation is calm and the government forces are conducting operations in the district.
There is no news from the government and the Al-Shabaab group regarding the fighting that took place this morning in some parts of the city of Balcad in the Middle Shabelle region.
