A ship carrying 9 Somali pirates caught off the coast of Somalia arrived yesterday in Mumbai, India.
The pirates have been handed over to the local police for further action.
Indian warships INS Trishul and INS Sumedha managed to rescue FV Al Kambar and its crew of 23 Pakistanis.
It was earlier this month that the Indian Navy launched another operation and captured a ship named Ruen which was about 2,600 km from the coast of India when it was attacked by pirates.
In the 40-hour operation, the warship INS Kolkata forced all 35 pirates to surrender, and 7 crew members were rescued.
India is set to impose large sentences on the pirates it controls in the coming days.
