Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, welcomed a delegation of ministers led by the Minister of Finance of Puntland, Mohamed Farah Mohamed, to Addis Ababa.
The two sides discussed trade cooperation, investment, energy cooperation, and joint infrastructure projects to strengthen and expand bilateral relations.
Puntland’s finance minister said Puntland wants to strengthen its relationship with Ethiopia, stressing the importance of focusing on trade, economic infrastructure development, and economic cooperation.
Ambassador Mesganu said on his part that Ethiopia is committed to having relations with the Puntland administration, and he stated that Ethiopia is ready for cooperation in various fields.
This meeting coincided with President Deni’s reports that he is in Addis Ababa, on his way to the United Arab Emirates.
Puntland has recently said that it has withdrawn its trust from the federal government of Somalia, saying that it is acting like an independent government.
