Somaliland has warned unnamed countries that they want to enter into the agreement signed with Ethiopia.
In a statement published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was said that Somaliland will never accept anything that goes against its interests.
“Somaliland categorically rejects any kind of invasion, especially against its national interest, or its desire for independence,” the statement said.
The statement said that the recent agreement between Somaliland and Ethiopia is one that leads to cooperation and mutual benefit, which is beneficial to both sides.
He added that Somaliland welcomes any constructive cooperation with the world, but it is wary of countries and organizations that want to benefit from the Ethiopian agreement.
“Somaliland greatly understands any country or organization that wants to interfere in this process, hiding in the false issue of protecting Somalia’s independence, in order to achieve the interests of their nations,” the statement said.
Finally, it is stated in the text that Somaliland is committed to protecting the general peace of the region and the world, and is focused on protecting the waters of the Red Sea in particular.
