Somalia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Abukar Osman Baalle, who gave a report at the meeting of the Security Council of the United Nations, spoke about issues such as the arms embargo on Somalia and the situation of SSC Khatumo.
Ambassador Abukar Baalle first called on the United Nations Security Council to lift the arms embargo on Somalia for a long time, citing as an example that the country has made significant changes and progress.
He also told the Somali Ambassador to the United Nations at the meeting that there is a situation of stability in the town of Lasanood in the Sool region, noting that this is due to the extra efforts made by the administration of SSC Khatumo.
Abukar Baalle also welcomed the Federal Government’s recognition of the establishment of the interim administration of SSC Khatumo, and urged UNSOM and international friends to support this development to align with the policy of the Federal Government of Somalia.
