The US Embassy in Somalia has condemned the attack that took place in Mogadishu that killed journalist A/fitah Macalin Nur ‘Qays’.
Reporter Abdifitah Maallin Nour Kays, who was the director of Somali Cable television in Mogadishu, was one of several people who died in a suicide bombing that took place last night in Bondheere district of Banadir region.
“I am very saddened by the attack that took place in Mogadishu that took the life of journalist A/fitaha Macalin Nur ‘Qeys’. Our condolences to his family. We condemn this barbaric act, said a brief statement from the US Embassy in Mogadishu.
The US Embassy in Mogadishu also said it stands by the Somali people who are determined to find peace, justice and prosperity.
The Al-Shabaab group claimed responsibility for the explosion that killed journalist Abdifitah Qeys, which was held today in a mass funeral in Mogadishu.
