The former president of Ummadda University, Prof. Hassan Omar Mahadalla, said the reason for his dismissal was his fight against corruption in the Somali university.
Prof. Hassan Omar Mahad alla, he gave an interview and said before he was removed from office that he submitted a letter to the audit office asking for an investigation into Ummadda University.
He said that some of the officials of the university have committed fraud.
“The people I was fighting against the incessant corruption, by God, they are still there, and the university is being destroyed with them,” said Pro. Thank God.
Prof. Hassan said that people inside the university and people outside the university have waged a war in order to get rid of corruption in the university.
On the other hand, the former President of Ummad University was asked about what is going on with him, Awan Nageye Ali Khalif, who was one of the teachers of Ummad University, who joined the Al-Shabaab organization.
He said he knew nothing about the case. He said that Nageeye was a very closed person and they did not understand each other most of the time. He pointed out that he often suffered from his behavior.
Prof Mahad Alla said when Nageeye disappeared, he informed the security police to come to the university and investigate, but he said they did not come.
