Candidates for the post of president of the Puntland regional administration are flocking to Garowe town, while President Deni is away from Puntland for two months.

The candidates who are meeting tomorrow, despite pressure from the security agencies, are expected to announce a political alliance to oust President Deni.

They said that President Deni could not do anything different from the parliamentary elections in which the members of parliament were elected in a tribal manner.

Among the personalities who are prominent in the opposition, one of them is the former finance minister of Puntland, Hassan Shire Abgaal, who said in public today that President Deni failed in the election of the multi-party system.

Hassan Shire Abgaal said that there will come a time when President Deni will not be asked about the fate of Puntland, if he does not announce the election in the remaining time.

“Deniyo, you have finished your duty. You have put Puntland in a difficult situation. You can see what is happening in Bosaso. Galkayo is being killed. Garowe’s security has weakened… even the honorable PL army has been neglected,” said Abgaal.

However, President Deni, who has less than three months left in his term, insists that he will hold an election by people and votes.
