The Kenyan government has announced that it has identified a list of Al-Shabaab leaders who were responsible for attacks in Lamu, Kenya.
Kenya’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Kithure Kindiki, speaking at St. Andrews ACK Nenderu, from Kiambaa area, said the identified ringleaders are linked to the killing of innocent Kenyan citizens.
“Government has identified the masterminds and masterminds of the atrocities in Lamu state using religion to kill and injure innocent citizens,” said Kithure Kindiki.
Kithure Kindiki noted that the list of suspects will be published this week and said that the suspects have been ordered to surrender at the nearest police stations.
“This week, we will publish the list of suspects and they should surrender at the nearest police station. We are going after all those criminals and we will get rid of them,” he added.
Kenya said it has taken important measures to reduce Al-Shabaab attacks, including identifying and arresting people who provide information, transport and supplies to Al-Shabaab.
