The prime minister of the government of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, received in his office the leader of SSC – Khatumo Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye), who went to Mogadishu on an official invitation extended by the government.
A brief statement from the prime minister’s office said that the prime minister heard from leader Firdhiye about the situation in the SSC-Khatumo areas.
The Prime Minister of Somalia has indicated that the Federal Government of Somalia stands for the protection of the unity and solidarity of the Somali nation and that any existing differences should be resolved through dialogue.
It is the first meeting between the leader of SSC-Khatumo and the prime minister of the country. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to meet with him in the coming days, according to informed sources.
MPs from the north of Somalia (Somaliland) opposed the way the government welcomed the leader of SSC-Khatumo. And they believe that this issue can affect the talks between Somalia and Somaliland.
