The President of the Federal Government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre and other officials have condoled the death of the former Mayor of Mogadishu, the late Ali Ugas Abdulle.

May God have mercy on the deceased, he was ill in Digfeer Hospital for the past few days and finally passed away this morning.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has sent his condolences to the family of the deceased, first of all Ugas Mohamud Ali Ugas, who is the head of Besha Mudulood, and the general Somali people who have passed away Ali Ugas Abdulle.

The President noted that the late Ali Ugas Abdulle had been serving the Somali people for a long time, especially during the difficult times the country was going through, and Islam was a political center.

“May God have mercy on the former mayor of Mogadishu, Ali Ugas Abdulle, who was a veteran politician and peacemaker who played a major role in peace, reconciliation and the rescue of the Somali people,” said President Sheikh Hassan Mohamud.

The late Ali Ugas Abdulle previously held positions in the country such as the Ambassador of Italy in 2005 and the Mayor of Mogadishu in 1987-1990.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, sent his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and all the Somali people.

The Prime Minister noted that the deceased was a citizen who served his country faithfully and played an effective role in the efforts to build a government and reconcile the country.

He also talked about the death of most of the Somali politicians, traditional leaders and different sections of the Somali people.
