The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has welcomed the decisions of the United Nations Security Council regarding the situation in the city of Lasanod.
President Hassan Sheikh called for an opportunity to be given the emergency and emergency aid needed by the local people, and to create an environment suitable for reconciliation and a peaceful solution.
Also, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reinforced the government’s call to address the regional crisis, which was based on a non-arms solution to the conflict in Lasanod.
Hassan Sheikh said that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to playing its role in peace and facilitating negotiations, in order to end the conflict.
The President of Somalia made this statement at a dinner meeting with the SSC delegation in Mogadishu last night.
The president was accompanied to the meeting by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre.
However, the security council last night issued resolutions saying that Somaliland troops should be immediately withdrawn from Lascaanod.
