The people who took part in the demonstration and came from different districts of Mogadishu expressed their grief over the Israeli airstrikes on the Palestinian territory, which killed thousands of Palestinians within a week. .
Sheikh Abdul Hayi, one of the Somali clerics, who spoke to the people who gathered at the demonstration against Israel, said that this demonstration shows that Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian Muslims is not acceptable to the Somali people.
“We came together to show the cause that Israel is aggressor, occupying the Islamic land and committing genocide,” said Sheikh Abdull Hayi.
Sheikh Abdul Hayi also said that Israel’s weapons to destroy the Palestinians are more powerful than prayer, and he demanded to be prayed for.
“The weapon used in prayer is more dangerous, because the prayer is aimed at God. Oh my God, the victory of Palestine has gathered,” said Sheikh Abdul Hayi.
Today’s rally in Mogadishu coincides with the Somali federal government strongly condemning the Israeli airstrikes in Qasa, and calling for an unconditional ceasefire.
